Holy Grails: Best Base & Top Coat

A good base and top coat are a nail polish addict’s best friends – and if you’re like me, you have your HOLY GRAIL picks, polishes you simply cannot live without. After trying MANY other alternatives – here are my absolute favourites when it comes to the most used polishes in my stash.
BASE COAT
Revlon’s Quick Dry Base Coat is everything you’d ever want in a base coat – it prevents staining, evens out the nail surface for polish application, helps my manis last longer and most importantly, dries hella fast. By the time I’m done applying to my last nail, the first few are dry and ready for polish. Plus it’s a drug store find – easily accessible and very affordable.
TOP COAT
Once I tried Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I knew I’d found the one – my true top coat love! It goes on smooth, creates a shiny finish, lasts forever and most importantly – dries super fast. This top coat is the sole reason I can change my nails so often. Even if I only have time to paint my nails right before bed, this top coat dries fast and locks in my manis – never again will I wake up with creases on my nails from sleeping too soon after painting. It’s seriously a godsend. The only downside – it can be hard to find in stores in Canada. I tend to buy this in bulk when I see it at Winners or my local beauty supply.
